Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

People vote for the local MP who represents the party they want to run the country. Obviously there are exceptions, such as tactical voting.

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

OK, so the obvious inference would seem to be that have some sort of issue with the way party leaders are elected. You would apparently prefer that everybody on the electoral register be permitted to...

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

OK, so you've realised that if you were a paid-up member of the Labour Party, you could vote in the leadership election. Well done you.

Presumably you're not aware that the same thing happens in...

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

Can you explain why? Using your logic, I could point out that Cameron got 0.075% of the national vote, and he ended up as PM.

You won't find any MP from any party who got more than zero point...

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

Oh, so you were referring to the General Election rather than the Labour leadership election.

Can you explain why? Using your logic, I could point out that Cameron got 0.075% of the national vote....

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

I'm trying to make sense of that statement and failing. You'll have to help me. 380,000 people were eligible to vote for Corbyn in the leadership election and 251,417 did. That's a bit more than...

Re: Corbyn & Nuclear

Because he's got principles and he's prepared to stand by them publicly rather than saying what he thinks will appeal to a certain proportion of the electorate?

Or does he realise that a great...

Re: UAE LAbour Law v English Contract - Gratuity

Is there an official different metric for calculating gratuity for companies doing it that way? Because standard paid-when-you-leave gratuity is calculated on final salary as well as length of...

Any experience of monthly rental in Dubai?

Might need to rent somewhere just for a couple of months later in the year. Looks like I could get a furnished studio in Disco Gardens for about 5000 a month.

Anyone got any experience of that...

Re: Doha vs. Dhahran - A tale of two offers

If you say so.

And yet Christians are happy to pick and choose what they want to believe from both the OT and NT. If they completely disregarded the OT I wouldn't mind so much.

Re: Sending family home without employer finding out

Believe what you like, chief. I choose to believe only f*****g idiots completely trust their employers, especially out here. Way too many stories of people being f****d over, even after many years of...

Re: Doha vs. Dhahran - A tale of two offers

As a Christian you worship the exact same God as Muslims (and Jews). And you should also follow pretty much the same dietary laws (I guess you know that the Bible says Christians shouldn't eat pork...

Re: Sending family home without employer finding out

On the contrary. But I'm not stupid enough to think that being completely open with them is necessarily a good idea. Nobody with half a brain should trust their employer that far. Plenty of companies...

Re: Sending family home without employer finding out

You are most certainly missing something. This is simply a matter of being able to time my resignation to when exactly suits me best. It makes most sense for the family to leave in the summer so that...

Re: Minor Accident- Bahrain (Tricky Situation)

Cars out here get dinged/scratched all the time, and if nobody's around, the culprits never own up to it. I really wouldn't worry about it.
