Just a note on IT jobs in the UK, the company i work for has a US office and the new member of staff (US) moved from New York all the way to San Diego CA for a job!

Seems like a long way to go for...

Personally i find skype quiet good, they do packages witch allow calling of mobile and local number and its at quiet cheep rates.

Also if you are in the UK you can get a mobile on the "Three"...

Theres a nice british shop in San Deigo (solana beach) tad on the expensive side though. Something like £5 for a tin of beens.

Bit of a update... We are going, decision is made and we are now waiting for the fun with the visa process.

I may of worded the last post incorrectly.

The Engineer had a visa but as they where not married his girlfriend did not as the company will not arange one.

We will both have visa's.

We had a engineer who had a visa but due to not being married a visa was not provided to his girlfriend. They both went across to the US, after 3 months they came back for christmas. On the return...

The Company is sorting all of the visa process.




We are just gona scrap most of the house contents and rent part furnished. We are hoping to rent a fully furnished place and buy the odd bits...

Im not sure the option to come back after a few months is really there to be honest.

The way the company is working it sugests that this is not really going to be a workable option.
