Phew, just as well I didn't jump in and follow your own "bum advice" and throw out my SKYHD box and replace with your much loved 30€ box! Me thinks your own credibility is in tatters;)

But the motor insurance policy which Saga Insurance offers does give cover for use of the car up to 12 months abroad. I previously had this policy until I got my car fully imported to Spain recently....

I have searched (tried "mobile data" "payg data" etc) but not found any other relevant threads to be honest! All other threads I've seen refer using 3G dongles etc on a laptop for mobile internet...
