Re: gas man
It'll be a scam, they don't call. There was a warning in one of the ex-pat papers last week. Ever thought why they mainly target foreigners!

Re: gas man
Def a scam, tell him you only rent it and to contact the contract owner and give him the police station phone number.

Re: gas man
Having got fed up arguing with these clowns over the years, I now tell them we're all-electric. End off.

That`s what the copper that lives near us told us to do, he even said use my mobile number.
They are bloody devious round here though, wear smart uniforms and official looking paperwork on a clipboard, a lot of people do get stung.

Re: gas man
We don't have gas so we told him to go away.
We even had a security alarm salesman here the other day trying to sell us an alarm system - the fact that he was standing outside the gate in front of a large notice saying we had are connected to an online Prosegur system didn't seem to deter him!

Re: gas man
If so did you buy the call out insurance scheme as well ?
If so a tech will call after 5 years (length of insurance) to check all is well and to renew the policy.

They don't call without contacting you first. The company says that.
Once they get through the door the scammers will rip off the hose and charge around 80 euro for a new one that cost 3 euro in the shops.
Jdr's advice is best.

Re: gas man
thanks for all your advice.
luckily my other half told them we were just on holiday and renting the house - he did say they were very friendly though!!
But with them having official looking paperwork i was just a bit concerned! thanks you have all put my mind at rest.

Are you on Montgo? I'm surprised they bothered going up there in the snow or has it all melted now.

The photos were apparently of Denia although Lynn may have posted them on facebook to wind me up as I shall be spending time in Denia later in the month.
