Great question. Obviously we're biased, but his language ability seems to be very good and he's a smart kid. He has a wide vocabulary and talks non stop, all day ...drives us insane actually.

Look at www.realtor.ca to buy, www.viewit.ca to rent.

If you're mostly working from home you might want to live a bit further from downtown, to get more bang for your buck (as they say).

In a bit of a panic here! I'm slap bang in the middle of bringing my UK pensions over to Canada.

I arrived for the first time at Toronto Pearson airport on a 1 year work secondment on a freezing cold January day in 2008.

8 years, 1 divorce, 4 jobs, 3 relocations, 1 new relationship and 2 kids...

Agreed, when I first came to Toronto I lived on Harbourfront and really enjoyed living there. It can be a little pricey though and we're not sure what the OPs budget is.

I think he's trying to be witty, Church & Wellesley is in the heart of Toronto's gay village. Incidentally I used to live there (despite being straight) and it was actually quite a fun place to live...

I'm currently in the process of moving over my personal pensions, so I'm quite happy with the exchange rate right now. Unlike 5 years ago when I sold my UK house and moved over the money at 1.59...

Agreed, the friends I've made here have been other Brits (obviously), Pakistanis, Serbians, Colombians, Indians, Chinese, Israelis, etc etc. Not many born and bred Canadians!
