I've used hidemynet.com for the past few months, and have generally been happy with their service, though they're a VPN provider rather than a proxy.

That sounds like an issue with Lloyds rather than UK banks in general; I use firstdirect in the UK and they have the ability to send messages from within the online system. I had the same experience...

No, they didn't revalue it. I paid the admin fee, and literally all they did was send me out a buy-to-let mortgage contract with the same interest rate, term and monthly payment as I'd had before.
