Maybe...Maybe not. I was getting quoted $130 a month without providing the document - so I'm happy to be a sucker if that got me my $70/month deal on a UK licence with no US driving history. :D

Just to add... I don't think having a mobile contract will do anything for your credit rating...unless of course you default on payments, then it will really hurt your rating.

I'm insured with Metropolitan (metlife). They took account of how long I had my UK licence so I got an experienced driver discount. I had to get a copy of something from the DVLA (Driving Record?).
