Some background: I lived and worked in Germany for 14 years from the early nineties. Five and a half of those years I was a "Künstlerischer Mitarbeiter" at a Hochschule, with Beamtenstatus and all...

Re: UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

That's quite an odyssey, more than ours. At least you get very good at packing and knowing what to throw away...

Re: UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

You are right, although the minimum qualification is a point to note. That could affect the 2 years in Denmark, from which I would get a company pension.

Even with rising prices, Berlin is very...

Re: UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

Always the conundrum about buying. Most forecasts suggest that prices (to buy) will continue to rise; and renting is definitely more expensive than it used to be. It's going to be a calculated risk...

Re: UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

We are very aware of the changes, were there again last month. Keeping an eye on (rising) prices via Immobilienscout; the pound is strong vs the Euro but that can change, especially if Scotland...

Re: UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

The question was: does anyone have the experience of multiple moves between two countries, specifically UK & Germany?

Your reply implied that you count yourself amongst these. How many times have...

UK-Germany-UK-Germany - anyone else?

Here's an unusual situation and I'm wondering if anyone else here has a similar experience?

To sum up briefly: at the age of 30 I moved from my native UK work in Berlin (in the early 90's), got...

You do need British citizenship to vote in a UK general election. Obviously you don't need a passport for this purpose.

Any thoughts about where/when/how to register that my wife has entered the...

Re: Returning to live in UK with EU spouse

Many thanks for all the helpful replies.

My wife does think that she would like to apply for British citizenship, although as others have pointed out, it's not imperative unless she wishes to be...

I'm returning at the end of this month after 16 years in Europe (14 in Germany, 2 in Denmark).

My wife has a German passport (we married in Berlin in 2000). I've looked through all the links in...

This would...
