Re: ETA in effect for Canadians 25 February 2026

Weird take. How is being forced to buy a UK passport to visit the UK "taking identity from the UK," isn't it the opposite? Dual citizens are being coerced into buying a piece of paperwork that says...

Harry Hill on YouTube

I grew up with Harry Hill's surreal channel 4 show, loved TV Burp, always been a fan of his humour. Recently discovered he has a podcast and it's as mental as his old stuff but I found it a good...

Re: ScotiaBank ... Ugh

You don't have the online credentials to login to his account?

Too late now, but probably should have had the money deposit into a joint account instead, makes those situations a lot simpler...

Re: UK Frozen Pensions

Perhaps a cold view, but I think it is fair to consider the difference living in the country receiving pension, and then spending the money within that country's economy and VAT and other taxes, vs...

Re: ETA in effect for Canadians 25 February 2026

Not quite, children born overseas from Canadian parents have to “claim” their citizenship first from what I understand. So they wouldn’t need a Canadian passport until they claimed it through...

Re: ETA in effect for Canadians 25 February 2026

May work, though my Canadian passport shows me as being born in the UK, so could be flagged that way? I have no idea.

CBC has now covered it:

Re: Renewing UK passport

I'm very annoyed about this too. I want to know just how strict they are about kids who are dual-citizen by descent born in Canada. It's a lot of money to maintain a whole extra set of passports. I...

Re: Traveling to UK Use American or British Passport ?

I don't see how maintaining a passport is connected to how much you value your citizenship status. I am happy to be a British Citizen, but the reality is, since becoming Canadian, it's a document I...

ETA in effect for Canadians 25 February 2026

Something to be aware of. My concern is I want to enter the UK on my Canadian passport as I don't have really any interest...

Re: Kids forum?

Add Snapchat, TikTok, Discord to the list. I get the feeling WhatsApp is considered old person territory too these days, more young people gravitate to Discord.

Re: IQAS equivalency

Interesting. While it’s true high school is until 18 in Canada, school starts at 5 years old in Canada vs 4 years old in the UK.

So I guess it’s just one year diff.

Re: Canadian citizen visiting the US under Trump, changing entry rules?

Re: Alternatives for Skype

I phrased it poorly, I meant, purchased it just to end up killing it. But true enough 14 years is a long time. I can't believe it's even been that long.

Re: Alternatives for Skype

I agree Skype served a need as a simple service to call each other, and I still use it to talk to my parents. I am particularly irritated that Microsoft purchased it just to kill it, especially as...
