Wait. Infrared generates heat . A heat gun generates heat. How is the end result different as it relates to making paint melt and become easy to scrape off?

I talked to 3M about the lead paint removal respirator. Apparently the center valve is a one-way membrane and is for exhaling. The 2 cartridges on the sides are what the inhaled air comes through....
