Re: Overwhelmed and just want to go home

I'm overwhelmed too, moving to the UK after a long time away is daunting and I'm only single and bringing back a few boxes of stuff. My plan is around $20,000 NZD by October next year, but I wish I...

Re: After many, many false starts, I'm finally on track for moving home

Thanks! This time I think I've given myself a more reasonable time frame in which to save enough to survive on if I can't get a job there from NZ, and to organise everything.

Re: Small scale moving costs. Air cargo?

I'm in a similar position to OP, and they look like a good solution for those with small amounts to ship back. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Settling back in the UK after spending most of your life abroad

I think our ideas about what constitutes a positive development are rather different. I've always hated the days getting longer.

Re: Settling back in the UK after spending most of your life abroad

Thank you! I've been keeping an eye on the weather for Chester and the temps right now are what we had here in winter, but seem to be rapidly cooling. Sunset is already 4:33 as of today. I expect in...

Re: Settling back in the UK after spending most of your life abroad

Re: Settling back in the UK after spending most of your life abroad

Aye, and I'll get one if I ever go to Scotland, but I meant there's no 100 pound note that is legal tender throughout the UK.
