We recently visited Calgary for a job interview and holiday combined. All we told Immigration was a holiday. No need at this point to confuse things. Good Luck!

Only if he is classed as a skilled worker. Semi skilled (truck driving) means I can't work on his permit for 6 months. Hence I would like my own.

I spend a lot of time on the phone to Canada speaking with both agencies and employers. The main thing that I am told is that they don't employ foreign workers...

Before you do go, you can make contact with them and ask which employers/businesses may be exhibiting. They do have realtors, bankers, removal companies, provincial government representatives.

We went to the one based in Leeds last November.
They are holding another one in Leeds again in May.
You only need to spend one day there, but we found out lots more info that we hadn't already got...

Isn't the spousal open work permit only granted after six months though? That's our understanding.
