agreed, and so they are in a position to lend to small business which are the engine of economy...whereas here in ireland the banks are taking the govt recapitilisation money and hoarding it instead...

fair enough but the whole banking system collapse thing was started in US with sub-prime which had knock on effects causing much of the sh#t elsewhere or at least starting it, so my question is - how...

wooooaaaahh everyone - think positive here, whats is unemployment in aus now versus uk ? 4% versus 7ish? the credit crunch has hit so why is oz 3 months behind uk? uk banks are f##ked, aus bankls...

yeah agreed, things gone quiet there too though in last month or so...just back froma reccie mission over there where there were loads of offers (tentative) and interest, all are being a bit quieter...

so what is ther going rate for someone (chartered ) with 10 years (design and construct)? And if much less then what is the attraction of this place?? As far as I know rent is horrendously expensive...

thanks guys...with regard to maternity - we are in ireland - similar enough rules i guess but you dont need to be resident in ireland - maternity is up end of march, she needs to go back for 6 mths...

Myself and wife and son are thinking of moving to Oz. i have job offer with big civil engineering contractor in nsw, offering around 150k.....i'm out of work at home so on the face of it...
