Re: Immigrating - child with mild disability

Thanks for your reply. My son is 11. His main problems are with focussing in class and his organisational skills. He also has anxiety issues - nothing major but still needs more support than the...

Re: The 'clinging spouse'

Thanks, Foxy. Yes, I realized that I wouldn't be able to work without my own work permit. Unfortunately, I don't have any hope of getting one at this stage, having taken an extended (ten-year!)...

Re: Dogs and quarantine

Thanks for the info, Zanne. Hope I'm not being dense here but, why did your cat have to undergo quarantine in the UK? I thought you could skip the quarantine and get the pet flown from the US to UK...

The 'clinging spouse'

I'm going to accompany my husband via his work permit. Am I right in thinking that, if we buy a house, it can only go in his name? Are there any other disadvantages of being the 'clinging spouse'...

Re: Dogs and quarantine

Thanks again, Foxy. If I could sit our dog down and discuss the pros and cons, I think that right now he'd actually go for the long-haul flight to BB via UK. We're up to our ears in snow!

Re: Gluten/casein free foods

Mmm, thanks, M, that gives me 'food for thought' ('scuse pun here!). That does sound very expensive for a loaf of bread, particularly because I'm guessing it won't even taste that good! If anyone...

Dogs and quarantine

Does anyone know if dogs coming into BB from Canada have to go through a period of quarantine? Someone told me that, if you send the dog via the UK, you can skip the quarantine period but, from what...

Gluten/casein free foods

Hi - How easy is it to get gluten/casein free foods on Barbados, particularly bread? Also, are organic foods in good supply?

Immigrating - child with mild disability

Hi - My husband has been offered a position on Barbados. He thinks it would be a great environment for our son, who has a mild form of autism. I am more cautious because I understand that the...

Driving test?

Hi - If you have a UK or Canadian driving licence do you still have to take a driving test in Barbados in order to get a local licence?
