Um.......as I said in my first post....was thinking that potentially if visa took 6-12 mths and job had to say they 'will' employ you for 2 years and it is from application time effectively they are...

Just a bit confused about the 2 year contract for this visa, how does it work ie if the job have to offer a 2 year contract is that from when they apply or from when the visa is granted?

We got here almost 2 years ago, yes my employer would be happy to sponsor us for PR but we want to stay on a 457 for personal reasons.

I guess it is a generated email that everyone gets but they have requested copy of our marriage...

RSMS second job?

Hi!

Does anyone know.....if you are on a RSMS visa can you have a second job or is it the same as 457 and you can ONLY work for the sponsoring employer?

As i said, the hospital have had experience of people changing their minds after getting here (not sure if they go home or get another employer) and so for that reason they now bring anyone...

if i get the 2 year possition i will move onto it straight away, they won't keep me on the 6 month one until August. I guess i'll have a chat with them and see what they can do

As far as i know ALL 457 applicants need to have a chest x-ray done. I think the full meds have to be done for anyone working with kids or in health, and any children under 12 (?)

I guess everyones situation is different but we actually came out to Oz on a tourist visa before we actually had our 457.

We had been told that our visa would be granted and everything...
