cheers for responses,

have just sent off for my police check, that could take up to 10 days, then getting the work permit another 6 weeks, which will take me right up to the date i start work in...

I asked a similar question (i am still awaiting LMO approval) and got this reply:

I would definitely recommend getting the passport renewed before you come over.

1 - It's a lot more expensive...

The company i will be working for actively came over to uk to look for 3D artists. I think it is just a matter of what job you are doing, and what jobs st john's are looking to fill.
