Re: I-90 Green Card Renewal

The I-485/green card application specifically requires 2 green card style photos. You can find this in the instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

Re: I-90 Green Card Renewal

I-90 applicants are always fingerprinted now. I usually include 2 photos.

Re: Long time no see, N-400 time

I think it varies by the jurisdiction where you file. In LA, it typcially takes 4-5 months. Of course, they can wave their wand next week and the times will change completely.

Re: B2 Cohabiting Partner visa - questions

That is a really interesting thing to say to the public. 1000s of arrivals daily and it is not possible for a CBP officer to make a mistake. LOL.

I found this material off the following link...

Re: Immigrant visa interview questions (London)

Good answer! We need a Like button on this site. Whatever you call these checks--background checks, admin processing, etc... it can take 1 day to ???

Re: Long Term Partner of an H1B visa holder

Correct. I have heard this at CBP Liaison Meetings. The CBP officer does have this discretion. You might as well make the argument at the airport. Come in with a print out of the new policy for...

Re: Long Term Partner of an H1B visa holder

As I read the memo, I do not see any references to an extended B-2 visa.

L-1(It looks like your company has branches in the U.S.), H-1, F-1, H-4...those are a lot of options. You might want to...

Re: H1B Degree Issue

There are services that perform credential evaluations for H-1B applicants. Most charge around $100 for it. You should consider obtaining one of these for your H-1B petition.

Re: How to find H1b sponsoring companies?

Finding an H-1B sponsor is challenging. Depending on your qualifications, you both may have a shot at one.

I wanted to point you towards some reading material you might find interesting. USCIS...

Re: *Must* I use my CR-1 immigrant visa first time?

I do not know whether you can or cannot travel in as a tourist at this point. For what it is worth, I have a bit more information about this general topic:

If the sponsor is not traveling with...

Re: *Must* I use my CR-1 immigrant visa first time?

We can all be wrong. I am certainly no exception. The real answer depends on all of the facts and circumstances of the OP and his sponsor and whether she has met the domicile requirement already. ...

Re: *Must* I use my CR-1 immigrant visa first time?

OP is discussing his first entry after the immigrant visa interview, not the I-864. The I-864 requires the Petitioner to be domiciled (or re-estabish her domicile) in the U.S. Given that the I-864...

Re: *Must* I use my CR-1 immigrant visa first time?

Where did you get this information from? CR-1 is not a derivative or accompanying to join category where you have to follow the main beneficiary. I do not see any such requirement in 8 CFR(235.11)...

Re: Global Entry on a GC

I am glad it went well. I think that Global Entry is a great program. If you travel internationally, a five year pass for $100 is well worth it. I definitely will apply for it myself. On my last...

Re: After filing the I-130....

You are looking at 3+ years wait based on today's numbers for a current visa number. I am not sure I see the wisdom of the B-2 idea. Perhaps an H-1B, if he has a University Degree and a job offer...

Re: HELP - AR11 form, change of address qeury??

I disagree with this. The AR-11 does actually change your address with immigration. The OP should also note that AR-11s are no longer filed with London, Kentucky. The new address is:
U.S...

Re: I-485 AOS - PR parent filing for an adult child

Nena,

Your mother will file an I-130 on your behalf. Regardless of whether your mother is an LPR or a citizen, the I-130 filing will not give you an immediately available visa number for your...

Re: H1B RFE

USCIS is RFE'ing everything. I suspect this is a job creation issue for federal workers. The Service Centers seem to like to target the specialized knowledge issue, especially recently. I just...

Re: Can we move to USA whilst applying for I-130 visa?

You should note that the I-130 alone is not a visa and does not give a right to live/work in the U.S. It is the first step of the immigrant visa process for each of your family members. For the...

Re: London I-130 Approval

You do not need to worry about the affidavit of support now. That comes up after you have a current visa #, a few years from now. For the affidavit of support, the US Citizen needs to be domiciled...

Re: London I-130 Approval

I take it you are living in the U.K. and that the U.S. Consulate has accepted processing for the I-130. Typically, the U.S. citizen has to file at the Service Center with jurisdiction over where he...

Re: Oil Geoscientist work in USA

Hello,

If your girlfriend is an LPR, you have no immediate right to immigrate through her, even if you were married.

It looks like you should explore business visa options, either as an...
