Re: IEC UK Working holiday work permit: Timeline and process to add medical after arr

I had missed that detail in the interpretation and I think you might be right. FW 1 says,

Thank you!

Re: IEC UK Working holiday work permit: Timeline and process to add medical after arr

Thank you for your reply - this site has always been such a great source of knowledge. I managed to find some time to do some further research but hadn't realized they'd moved to doing medicals and...

IEC UK Working holiday work permit: Timeline and process to add medical after arrival

Hi all,
I have a question about the timeline and process to add a medical clearance to a working holiday work permit after arrival.

However, firstly, an update from me. I used to hang out at this...

Re: North Vancouver wilderness

I spend a lot of time running on the North Shore trails. The areas that are not publicly accessible basically feed the Cleveland Dam. It's basically a little V-shaped section into the mountains. You...

Re: Has anyone sent PR application to Buffalo?

If you've applied to Buffalo then you're just fine. CIC will transfer it to a satellite processing centre if workload allows. Just sit back and let the process work.

Re: re-entering canada after a trip home

There is no set time period. You just need to be able to convince the border officer that you intend to go home.

Re: Does Anybody Know??

I'm sorry I don't have time to find proper references for this but here is my expectation.

My understanding is this: Your SOWP is dependent on your husband's TWP. Because that is about to change...

Re: BUNAC, foolish antics and permanent residents…

I wouldn't bother applying until 2011 or 2012.

From the end of the ban for the DUI you need to count 5 years - then you need to apply for rehabilitation.

If any of the other small fines come...

Well other people might not be but I am.
Oh...wait... hold on...

Re: View of IT Job Recruiters ?

Oh, I certainly was using a collective you. No personal reference intended.

If the people making decisions cannot identify productive performance then they'll make the wrong decision. If the...

Re: View of IT Job Recruiters ?

Mmm... I don't really think the difference is particularly important. If the dev taking your job is in India or in the next building isn't relevant to the question of performance and pay.

Re: View of IT Job Recruiters ?

I'm not keeping very close to the software developer job market in Vancouver. It's down but it's not too bad. Certainly, when I came over in late Nov last year it took 2 months to find a job (a good...

Re: ppr letter content--kindly clarify

I've never heard of anybody trying this but I wonder if you get CIC to let you get the Visa at the Canadian mission in India. I assume that there's High Commission in Delhi.

I wouldn't be...

Re: ppr letter content--kindly clarify

"Submit your passport, photos and information within 60 days of the date of this letter."

This is what it says. This is what you do.

You have 60 days - you don't have a year.

Re: Backbround Checks

1. I don't think we've heard of anyone actually having their references called.
2. I doubt CIC cares what your former colleagues think of you. If they call it would be just to establish that you...

Re: Canadian WHP

I heard that too. In fact, at the time, I did a search through the US Immigration law trying to find anything about it; there's nothing.

It's an odd statement to make too. Why should one...

Re: BUNAC to FSW

PR takes time. Just get used to it.

Why aren't you eligible for LMO? If you get AEO then that means your job is in demand so you should certainly get LMO.

You have your choice between sending...

Re: Immigration virgins - scared and need advice!!

Here's a top link (http://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/I-2.5/index.html) Go into Division 3 and search for 28. You'll find it.

As to your situation. I think you'll be fine but I'm not a lawyer. On a...

Re: twp police check dilemma

Can you write an argument that says that the admitted facts of your case do *not* fit the definition of Dangerous Driving in the Canadian Criminal Code?

Put that together in a way that a bureacrat...

Re: Immigration virgins - scared and need advice!!

No.
Time outside Canada does not count any time towards citizenship (which I think is the question you're asking).

Re: twp police check dilemma

Now I could be wrong (it's easy to check the operations manuals) but I'm pretty sure that provincial law is not looked at for the conversion. It's the Canadian Criminal Code only that you need to...

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. For this site, I've previously researched criminal inadmissibility fairly heavily.

If ACPO say that they won't put it on the record then that's...

Re: Immigration virgins - scared and need advice!!

With spousal sponsorship you do the medical first and send that in with your application along with the police certs. This is part of what makes this stream so fast.

All the instructions you need...

Re: Immigration virgins - scared and need advice!!

1. Marriage certificate is about all you need.
Photos of the two of you together, shared utility bills, leases, etc helps show that it's not a marriage of convenience.

2. Outland spousal...
