that's precisely he's take on the matter. yes he is in IT and could easily get round the restrictions but why should he have to possibly to break the law to view 18+ material if he wanted to. I...

as I said those sort of things don't really bother me but we have to agree as a partnership and I know if we did go with this issue then he would be unhappy and that in turn would make us as a family...

I have talked to him about it this morning and he is of the opinion that even though it won't affect us now in the future it may will do. With the example I gave about euthansia he can understand it...

I honestly don't think its an excuse, some of the reasons for leaving was the UK government and their ridiculous idea's and to see that Australian government have the same sort of thing just makes...

thanks for that, I know what you're saying and the proposed policies probably won't affect us in the slightest but it's the idea that the government can dictate what you can can't discuss that is...

Unhappy OH has now decided we are no longer going

after spending weeks and weeks preparing his RPL he came home last night and has said he can no longer see Australia as a viable option for us to move to.
reason: because of all the censorship...

well as I said we have only just started visa application, haven't even lodged any documentation with anyone yet OH has to do an RPL. just thinking it would be a good move now as you're getting more...

thank you just phoned them and can be done, but not the usual way they do things, just need to make an appointment to attend offices and verify our details with passport and utility bills.

thinking of opening an account to store any "spare" money we have but obviously don't want to lost it if our application fails.

sorry about that and I shall be having words with the agent as that info was requested on behalf of a friend of ours as my OH doesn't actually have one and is having to do the RPL.

we where given this information from a consultant (Nick) from http://www.australia-migration.com/ on the 14th October 2008.

well. we've only really just started, got an agent to work out the best option to submit visa request on as couldnt get our heads round the whole thing.
OH is just coming up to complete the RPL,...

found out this morning that yes we still need to submit the RPL as part of the skills assessment. shame really but least this means we can go for full visa and not be tied to one state for 2 years. ...

apparently the Canberra state is allowing you to apply to the ACT so not the ACS, if your skill set is in the third section of the link I gave earlier and having at least one year's experience.

apparently because the skill set has been expanded they aren't asking for a degree or similar. not sure how the assessment is done yet, should be getting some forms sent through tomorrow so will let...

no because they have expanded the skill set the skills he has are listed on there. he still has to do an assessment but no RPL
