The term carte bleu was originally coined for credit cards limited to French Domestic use i.e. one issued by "your" bank...

I lived there 9 years while working in Sophia Antipolis hitech park (Amadeus). Not cheap but plenty going on and easy to get away from it too for a quiet day. Antibes is definitely the best town...
