Re: Repatriation of money

I checked with our accountant before we sold and we have no CGT to pay. Our allowances cover it. He assured me that we could also claim the cost of trips out to sell and associated expenses. All our...

Re: 12 Months Visa. Change of plans by the goverment.

Actually I disagree about the visa changes. Originally they said the 2 month rule was an anti terror move but recently an Indian Government minister said in a press relaease that it "was to curb visa...

Re: Goodbye Goa

Johhny. I meant our accountant in the UK. All of our money is home and in the bank. Had to pay 10,000 rupees to Goan accountant, who I never met, to give a form saying no tax due in India, but no tax...

Re: Goodbye Goa

Re: Goodbye Goa

We do not hate Goa or India but we just do not feel welcome there any more, and made the decision to get our money out while we still could. The sad thing is that over the past 6 years we have had...

Goodbye Goa

Along with many others in our complex we have sold our Sale Agreement back to the builder and have left Goa for the last time. There are many things we will miss about Goa, but there are many more...

Re: 3 month visa for Brits????

Given that this would cause further large decreases in the numbers of European tourists visiting Goa and other parts of India, it seems almost certain that they will bring this in. Following the...

Re: Is it worth having your deeds.

DJ. Did you get all of your money back then? I think that if we got back what we had spent then we would almost certainly cut our losses. If you lost money what percentage did you lose, or di you...

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

Sound slike a great job pulling a cart along the beach, especially at high tide. Where do you get the application forms? I do not think that the beach will smell like a fruit market, more like a...

Re: Good Resturants this Season

I cannot say that I have ever heard anyone say a good word about the Spice Garden, it is usually empty any time I pass and that speaks for itself. I too like Rising Waves but in the past have had...

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

This is hard to believe. Can this finally be the first signs of common sense regarding the new visa rules? Whatever next!!

Re: I Laughed So Much It Hurt

We have over a foot of snow and have not been able to get the car out since Saturday. My wife is driving me absolutely nuts, all she does is stare through the window and complain about the cold.

Re: WHAT ARE C FORMS?

Perhaps we are getting a bit bogged down by the issue of these C forms. It does not really matter what the law says, if the Police say they must have them what option do you have? Personally the less...

Re: WHAT ARE C FORMS?

C forms have to be filled in by anyone staying at any hotel or guest house in India. Recently they have extended this to private houses. As I understand it they need to be completed in duplicate and...

Re: ATMS

Never had to pay commission in Goa on TC's. That is certainly what I will be using this year. I will still take my Nationwide card in case my wife manages to sneak in to the jewellers though.
