No, when he was playing in the earlier rounds, his ability to remain calm, not get shouty, not get all riled up was perfect. It is what he needed to do in the final and managed for the first set and most of the second, but then you could see the frustration on his face and coming through in his game.

Crying on court is completely separate.

I thought he did really well to control his emotions for just shy of the fortnight, he's definitely growing up. I know he's denied it but the pressure on him from the country and the media must have been a nightmare, there's a limit to how much you can shut that craziness out.

He doesn't need to shut all the stuff out, pressure is good. He can shut it out if he wants - Federer said he hadn't read a paper.

Murray needed to take his focus from the QF and SF into the whole final and it didn't work out that way for him, despite giving it a seriously good go. Don't think his slips / falls / tumbles helped and you could see he was struggling a bit.

Feel sorry for the lad but think the Murray Show that happened after the trophy presentation was unfair on Federer.

I prefer.... He wasn't good enough on the day.

To be continued....

(he WILL win it within the next 3 years).

I prefer:

Federer was too good for anyone yesterday.

(I'd like him to win it within the next 3 years, but he needs to get a good draw again)

Not sure.

At first couldn't work out if it was Simon Fuller or his Mum.

Very strange indeed . That Simon Fuller looks as bent as a lemonade sandwich , must be all that chestnut hair dye....

agree he's a smarmy looking tosser...

read a piece about Murray's old man the other day. He creeps in and out of his matches mostly unnoticed by most of the general public and media but seems to have had as much influence over the young Murray's career as his now ex-wife.

came across as a pretty decent, non-bitter bloke and very proud father.

I think I read that she taught and trained him whilst Dad brought him up.
