I have looked back through the thread and can see nothing I say that would have cut someone to the quick so much as to warrant your attempt at character assassination.

You needn't say something direct in one thread to be patronising / condescending / desperate to try and put someone else down.

Unfortunately, it's about the one thing that will instantly get my back up. Fortunately for you, most people aren't that bothered when someone says something in one of the above tones. Probably why we're now here.

Anyway, I thought that 'character assassination attempt' didn't bother you? "Must do better" you said. But you're still upset after a good few days?

By the way, there's a few things that someone might just, maybe, with a prevailing wind, downward hill and a run up be able to take the wrong way.

Whilst amongst friends, I'd laugh with jokes and lines like these...but from you? Unlikely to be taken positively, if you fail to see how they can be taken as condescending or derisory then I think you should perhaps stop trying to look so intelligent.
