What's your perfect breakfast?
I tend not to eat first thing, especially when working from home, so I am now contemplating what to eat for breakfast. It'll probably be a slice of toast, but I am dreaming of much more exciting things.
What would your perfect breakfast, forgetting calories and practicality, be? |

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
Poached eggs are easy. The only trick is to have decent fresh eggs. Hot water, whisk it do the egg drops in the centre. No need to cling film or vinegar.
The hard part is to get good, really fresh eggs here. |
Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
I use a whizzy mother****er to get the water spinning like a whirlpool. Drop the eggs in. Boom. Done.

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
I am having trouble deciding between:
- In an old style US diner - a massive omelette with everything in it and home fries - A proper bagel (not that fluffy US nonsense, but a dense, chewy slightly sweet one) with cream cheese and lox - A fry up with bacon, sausage, saute potatoes, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and lots of toast. - Warm, fresh from the oven croissant au beurre and pain au chocolate and coffee. Decisions, decisions... I still haven't eaten yet, but I am drinking my mid morning pint of coffee and craving the viennoiserie :p |

Not brown sauce - not a fan. I'd happily eat it with a mix of ketchup and mustard though.
As long as it's Heinz and Colemans I'll let it slide. |
Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
Shed- yes clingfilm- It's has changed my life (ok slight exageration)- any idea if you can do it in a microwave?

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
I like most of the above suggestions :D
My perfect breakfast would be... lovely, fluffy, scrambled eggs made with a little cream, baby asparagus, whole grain toast and a bottle of Cristal :D |

I wouldn't use such a thing, but similar items are sold by many other companies. |

Get a proper tea cup (not a mug), put about 0.5cm of water in the bottom and break the egg into it. Microwave medium power for about 1min 30secs. Remember to put a bit of kitchen towel over the top as ever so occasionally they explode. :-) |

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
I bought an egg poacher thing from Lakeland a couple of weeks back. It was rubbish. The egg sat in it for about 10 mins and did not cook. I have gone back to poaching in hot water with some vinegar and salt.
Anyway, I like the irregular shape you get when you poach this way. Perfectly formed poached eggs make me think of prison food, for some reason. |

Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
I get up every day (during Ramadan) to make my husband the following:
Bacon, eggs, grilled tomatoes, pancakes with maple syrup. And an espresso. |
Re: What's your perfect breakfast?
Greasy cafe on the side of the A1, full breakfast, sausage, bacon, egg, shrooms, beans, toms (tinned), hash browns and fried bread. With a tea so strong it instantly stains your teeth.
