But your body will think it's being starved, so your metabolism will slow and when you do eat your body will try to store as much energy as possible as fat because it thinks it's being starved. Nearly all reputable studies show that small, frequent meals are optimum for weight loss.

In order for your body to go into starvation you have to eat less than half of your daily caloric intake (usually below 800 calories a day). For me eating breakfast, skipping lunch and eating a hearty (but healthy) dinner is the best way to control my calorie intake. I hate making and eating a whole bunch of little meals. It's expensive and time consuming.
