greatest inventions has to include antibiotics, telecommunications and the TV.
Arguably THE greatest was the printing press. the ability to communicate limitless information across the globe in seconds is a phenominal power for good and the development of man
the worst, telecommunications and the TV. the inability to escape the shite that they both tend to be used for is depressing

Does anyone know if anyone has invented a tv remote that has 2 volume settings you can switch between.
I have the tv at a level of about 40 when wacthing a show....but have to turn it down to about 14 when the ads are on as they are so much louder.
I am so lazy i can't be arsed holding the '-' on the volume as it scrolls from 40 to 14 so I end up muting the tv during the ads.
It would be cool if there was a button for a 'soft-mute' or something like that.
Wouldn't be a greatest invention - but it would be one of my favs.

Re: Whats the greatest invention?
Interesting question - what inventions in the last 100 years made a significant difference......
Contraceptive pills, nuclear weapons, semiconductors, refrigeration, genetic engineering.....
Not sure any of them are of unquestionable benefit!!!
Flushing toilets and sewage systems are, I think, a little older than 100 years (18th C, I believe).

You can look for me in Doha, but I'm actually in the UK at the moment.
I do have some crocs. Ugly they may be, but comfortable and practical they are...especially when recovering from operations and they can be slipped on easily.
Mine are in black, of course...not a ridiculous garish colour. I'm not a complete loser.
