Whats the greatest invention?
Hi All,
Had this converstaion yesterday with a friend back home, what are the best and worst inventions of the 20th/21st century?
My answers were;
Best
Ipod
Internet + skype
Flushable toilets + sewage systems
Escalators
Aeroplanes
Bras + thongs(as they keep me employed)
Worst
Caller id on phones
Weapons in general (vote for world peace)
Cars and aeroplanes (for polution reasons)
Internet (for deviants using it for evil plotting)
CCTV ( as you can't do anything you're not meant to these days)

Interesting question - what inventions in the last 100 years made a significant difference......
Contraceptive pills, nuclear weapons, semiconductors, refrigeration, genetic engineering.....
Not sure any of them are of unquestionable benefit!!!
Flushing toilets and sewage systems are, I think, a little older than 100 years (18th C, I believe).

I never understand dishwashers - I've had one in the last three houses I have lived in... in total I reckon I have used a dishwasher 5 times in the last 6 years...
and before anyone asks why I keep buying them I don't - I have bought only 1 of these dishwashers and that was to fill the hole left behind from the last one.
