What will Ramadan be like this year...

Re: What will Ramadan be like this year...
with all those rules about behaviour etc re-issued not so long ago (has it actually made a change by the way)...do you reckon that Ramadan will be more strict this year...
Over the past few years it's been getting more relaxed with more places open during the day etc, but is the prediction that the clock will be turned back...
The kids will still be on their summer break and the temperatures will be soaring...not something to look forward to...

Re: What will Ramadan be like this year...
I left AD three days into it last year and arrived in Sarawak a day later and was convinced that it had already finished
Everything carried on as normal; all eateries and drinkeries were open all day, smokers carrying on killing themselves etc. etc. This is a place were ALL religions are respected, were no one takes precedence over the other and non members of a faith expected to suffer because of the practices of another. This is despite the fact that Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country.
Don't get me wrong though it's not all sweetness and light out here but I know where I certainly prefer to be and it ain't the UAE.... ever again..... not never.... get my drift?

I think I will have to do what I have been saying for the past 8 years and book a week or two off this Ramadan...
