Wasting water
"The amount of water used to produce food and goods imported to developed countries is worsening water shortages in the developing world, a report says.
The report, focusing on the UK, says two-thirds of the water used to make UK imports is used outside its borders."
Eh? I'd have thought 100% of the water used to make UK imports is used outside its borders--otherwise they wouldn't be imports.

Am I having another bad day (haven't barked at anyone yet, though), or has the BBC degenerated into illogical, ungrammatical, poorly-written drivel?

That's impossible to construe from "The report, focusing on the UK, says two-thirds of the water used to make UK imports is used outside its borders." "its" can only be UK, surely Shirley.
