Utorrent Problems

Guess it might be the cable problem, they could be restricting bandwidth.
Just in time for Christmas. Now I need to go shopping and buy Mrs RK a real gift. Bugger! :curse:

Checked this morning and I can't pick up any torrents from EZTV or other sites. My downloads are still going on but very slow.

Maybe I'm being a bit thick but can someone explain why its uploading normally and why downloading is working through a VPN

For what it's worth, it was shown on TV here in Holland. Apparently one of the major internet cables connecting the USA / EU with Africa, the Middle East and Asia in the Mediterranean Sea was badly damaged due to either fishing nets or a ships anchor. They expect that somewhere between X-mas and new year the problem will be fixed. Companies and banks have already been informed to expect major connection problems. Maybe they are just filtering out torrents and peer to peer connections at this moment.

No point in filtering out incoming ones - they've already been through the pipe...
And their filtering won't be able to identify torrent traffic that's encrypted inside a VPN tunnel.

Probably the station in Alexandria (from where the broken lines leave) is filtering out outgoing bittorrent packets.
