I've done it 3 times in the UK, they tell you the exact obstacles and map a few days before. Usually the earlier you sign up the cheaper it is.
You can do it on your own but I highly suggest doing it in a group, a lot more fun, and the whole point of it is to 'leave no man behind.' Also if you're a petite girl like me you need a few guys to help lift you over the walls!
