Seems a bit harsh to me considering the pressure she was under at the time and the fact that she was heavily pregnant.

Agree the 'family' could have done more but to single her out is wrong IMO.

She wasn't "heavily pregnant" when he went missing. She was about 4 or 5 months along. Hardly "heavily" pregnant.

When you think about it, if he's dead and buried somewhere...then he's dead and buried somewhere.

If they really wanted to find him, what could they do? is there equipment that could detect a body buried in the sand? If so, what surface area can they cover per day? And what is the surface area of the desert around Dubai?

These are the kinds of questions that keep me awake at night...

A press conference 5 months later, shame this should have been done at the time I think we can all agree that his fate met him the night he went missing so this is futile really but she and the rest of the family deserve some kind of closure.

you need money, influence, and long term plans. He was a matelot, with a family, not a fugitive murderer nor a financial embezzler. He got drunk in a bar and unfortunately took the wrong turn either in behaviour or steps.

I still think that somebody will open a container in a few years time and discover a skeleton.

Ditto. Drunk wandering around in the dark finds a nice cosy container and lies down to sleep it off. Next thing the doors locked and off it goes.
