Timmy - Wife kicked out of MQs

Re: Timmy - Wife kicked out of MQs
TBH this is perfectly normal procedure - it happens a lot - whenever a family split up if the wife is left in MQs she is given a notice to vacate after so many months. If I remember rightly the MQs in Rowner estate (where the wife lives) were actually sold off to a private company who then lease them back to MOD for their staff to live in with their families - that way the MOD don`t have to pay for upkeep etc. I know for a fact that single parents who are serving in RN who were in MOD housing were told to vacate because they did not have their kids full time but only had them every other weekend.
The one thing I will say is that my former childminder was a widow - her hubby died in service and she was allowed to stay on in the MQ for many years until she moved back to her home country - that however was about 15 years ago and before MQ`s were all sold off - it does however set a precedence.

A colleague and I have just decided to perform a pre-emptive Scamp's AWOL Search reconnaisance this weekend, just to be prepared for the inevitable when Scamp's missus is away for a few days without him. We're starting at the Old Vic, will pay a brief visit to the Paranormal just so we're sure where it is, round the corner to the Ascot Hotel, then down to the Astoria, then the York on the way back. Purely so that we can easily retrace our steps in the heat of the moment. We'll leave no nook unexplored, no cranny unprobed. We have an emergency grab-bag prepared, too.

Another interview
OH....NOW she criticises the police!!! NOW the family think valuable time was wasted!! When did Mrs.M come out here???

Mrs MacColl today criticised Dubai police, who are leading the investigation, and spoke of her frustration at how the case has been handled. Dubai police have not taken up an offer to interview members of the ship's company either in the UK or via videolink.
And Timmy's family believe valuable time was wasted in the first few hours after he went missing.
Mrs MacColl asked why HMS Westminster, which had two key witnesses onboard, was allowed to set sail within days of Timmy's disappearance.
And she tearfully said she had run up £300 phone bills in her quest for answers.

She went out but I am sure it was for the Virgil a month or so after anything useful could be done.

With hindsight, that was perhaps the wrong way to do things.
