Y'no what, you are right. What it actually is, when you come through the airport and you show them your passport, they secretly spay the passport with this gooey stuff that is invisible to people. This then transfers to your hand and everytime you dial the taxi number it sets of a locator beacon so no matter where you are, they know and automatically transmit your coordinates to a robotic taxi driver.
It's brilliant fun when you are back in the UK, try calling and get someone to video all the taxis as they drive into the sea...
