India isn't inherently racist?

India is certainly sexist. Killing their new born daughters for example.
But India is cheap labour hence outsourcing to there. Pay peanuts, get monkeys

But all things are relative. The fact (well, I think it is) that most Indians will judge their fellow countrymen on their lineage suggests that the nation itself is racist--a view supported by the fact that Affirmative Action programmes that have been undertaken. Judging from the many Indians I've interacted with the programmes haven't worked, particularly among the higher castes who discriminate extremely strongly. Ergo, any company that outsources its HR function to India--without close supervision--runs the very real risk of generating comments such as "Women at it again". (Yes, I know that wasn't a racist remark, but sexism and racism often go hand-in-hand.)

At least as sexist as it is racist.
It's utterly stupid to outsource a role that relates to your public image to anyone who doesn't understand the implications of sexist/racist/idiotic comments. Too many companies fail to understand the importance to getting social media right. It's not a job for the intern.

If an multinational company wants an online presence (and they apparently need that now) then they should invest in a professional who reflects their company's ethos. Preferably someone with a good grasp of whichever language they're writing in. What's fifty thousand pounds (or the equivalent in Canadian/Australian/NZ currency) a year to a company like that? Nothing.

And I noticed you missed out US$ in the currency equivalents. Good point.
