Approx 80,000 people in Roundhay that day, some estimate it was a whole lot more due to a few thousand gate crashers.

It was a legendary four hour gig by the big man, backed by The E Street Band-so if he's still on form , be prepared for a long day!

Co-incidentally, it was also on the same day that a 17 yr previously unheard of German , won the Wimbledon Mens Singles.

I hope old age hasn't withered his performance.............. it's certainly affected mine..........
Have probably said on here before, but am a bit of a sad groupie when it comes to Springsteen.....lets just say this will be around the 35th time I have seen him live since 1985 in 5 different countries.....yes I know, very very sad, but because he changes the set lists night after night, its never the same concert twice....well thats my excuse anyway

One of my kids is doing "We are the world" at assembly next week and we've been watching the clip on youtube. Everyone looks so strange and 80's but have to admit I didn't realise at the time how absolutely delightful Springsteen was back then........must be age creeping up on me.

My hubby's best concerts were before 1972...Uriah Heep. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Humble Pie were just a few.

Your hubby rates Uriah Heep as one of the best concerts he's seen?

You mean he hasn't been to a live gig since 1972.....................

I didn't see the word 'huh' when I first read that, and thought it said 'he hadn't been alive since 1972' !!

If that's the case, he must be on the turn now I would have thought !
