Look we all live in countries where we have to, sometimes, accept that by our standards things seem irrational and illogical. Many cultures and societies are still developing concepts such as a secular state. Even in western countries these ideas have only been around, perhaps, less than 200 years (Late 1870's IRRC). Whole societies do not just "see the light", it takes time and all we can do is stand back.
It's education and gradual infiltration of western concepts that will eventually change entire societies, push too fast and you face revolt because people are moved by inches.
