So who is the most hated person in the UK now?

Re: So who is the most hated person in the UK now?
That I do not understand. I have a wife who's religious views I completely disagree with (She still cannot explain the dinosaurs to me) and some of my best friends are staunch socialists or bra burners (Theseus). The thing is there is a line, you respect their views, debate it, decide britexpat is right and move on.
The sooner people realise other people have their own views and it is utterly pointless arguing about it the better. Their and my views are utterly irrelevant in normal day to day life where you enjoy their company and talk shit.

I'm not a fan of Piers Morgan or his ex boss Murdoch and Blair but i have total disdain for Gordon Brown .
Working Tax Credits are the biggest nonsense policy ever to hit the UK for a long time . A total vote buyer and a national subsidy for low to middle earners .
Im not a fan of Ant & Dec either , there's only so much mileage in the professional northerner routine

I enjoy the banter on here and like hearing others point of views, especially when they can back it up. I may still disagree, but I do respect that they have opinions to.
I think what tipped them over the top was a very flippant and sarcastic comment I made about one of them (my cousin FFS!) moving to Spain a few years ago as he thought Franco was still in power. Anyway, I'm a Bad Person apparently. Hey ho...

This bored has some funny idiosyncrasy to it. We all may disagree in our two pages on BE but as soon as the MT thread was moved into an open forum with different posters not one person from here argued against each other, rather they backed each other up.
Regarding your cousin thinking Franco was still in power, I assume he now knows the errors of his ways.

Half the fun of this bored is the disagreements, If we all agreed on everything and nothing was contentious we would all be literally, bored.

Debate is good and it's interesting to see other people views and see how they react .
It's the ideology which baffles me to be honest , there's things in life that are just plainly wrong yet they're pushed aside by professional politicians for gain and votes , people get sucked in and swept away .
The Establishment are happy with red v blue / Labour V Tory / Republican v Democrat / Israel v Palestine / Celtic v Rangers / Thatcher v Scargill......

Living out here makes you expect the unexpected , you could have a boss with totally different ideals and morals and you live and work in one of the most unethical places on the planet .

Every time there was a riot or strike of historical concern I was out of the country and not watching Brit TV or reading the newspapers. This meant I came a cropper due to the Poll Tax only, getting my parents house blacklisted for credit because I refused to pay it, then did (silly really, when so many were let off that stuck to their guns) Maggie fixed our countries problems by taking a path that left us hollow afterwards. I can't say I really hate her.
Now, Piers Morgan on the other hand. we don't want him back under any circumstances!

Maybe....I was having a bad day (delayed flight into Dubai made for a long day in the office) and was frankly fed-up of all the papers/FB/twitter/forums having people openly celebrate at an old woman dying.
OK, she pissed a lot of people off, but a lot of the people either don't remember (or don't want to remember) or weren't around during the 70's and 80's. The country/world was in an utter mess and she decided to fix it the way she thought best. Anyway, I've said my piece on the whole matter.

Like you,I think it is inappropriate to generate a party atmosphere in celebration of the death of an individual, particularly when the revelry escalates to mindless violence and disorder- why smash a charity shop window ??
Being apolitical for the moment, a woman has died, she lived a long life and in
her mind,a dutiful and committed life in public service which she carried out with
unswerving determination for the betterment of something she staunchly believed in- Great Britain.
I fail to understand why some people cannot separate the person from the politician and accord her respect at the time of her passing - or just say nothing at all.
Politically speaking,I shudder at some of her policies and applaud others.
As P.M,her mandate was varied and challenging, more so than any other P.M
post Churchill IMHO.She made some good decisions, she made some bad decisions.
She did not suffer fools gladly and this was IMHO why
1.Michael Hesiltine and the others had their 'Et tu Brute' moment.
She should have listened to the bumbling idiots and perhaps negotiated her position
instead of flying to an EU conference.
2.She chose to die alone in a hotel room with her son far away in some other continent
