Quite frankly I had never heard of the poor fellow until he died. I had always assumed that Fools and Horses was written by the same guys who wrote Dads Army and Are You Being Served. Although he was obviously a great comedy writer, I sincerely doubt that the series would have been a major success without the expertise of David Jason. His sense of timing has always been brilliant. I hear he is about to start in a new comedy series at the ripe old age of seventy something.

Yeah, you live and learn, as they say. Really miss my Porridge repeats which I can't access here and I'm buggered if I going to buy them.
