Though we will be open from 0830 -1300 and 1730 - Everyone pisses off.

And as the police/workshops etc are only open in the mornings there will be no strolling in at 1030/11 oclock for me.

God damn you Motor Trade....
What's the boozing like in Doha over Ramadan?

Got the customary email from HR today.

2 hours shorter working hours for those employees who are muslim and fasting. Everyone else are working normal hours. I work for a semi-governmental company so they clearly don't give a crap about the MOL statement.

P*ssed me right off that did. Was looking forward to the shorter days. I will definitely skip lunch and head off early...

If you are allowed to eat and drink, I don't really see what the big deal is. If you are forced to fast then you should be treated the same.

I'll work what is required - last year that was anywhere between 2 hours and 14 hours. Officially we are 9-3 (down from 9-6), I'll probably do 8-2ish if I can.

To be honest, the funnier ones are the media publishers' whose titles are bleating from the rooftops about it being illegal to make staff work normal hours, then go an ignore it carte-blanche themselves.

True.

I get Millhouse's point though and don't have a problem with doing the hours, but where I'm from the law is there to be followed and if the government on one hand declared something to be unlawful the other hand wouldn't ignore it..but this is the ME where contradiction is part of the game...
