Correct BB - the fax relates to the central bank. I believe in years gone by thee retail banks follow the actual published holiday (1st day eid till 3rd Shawwal etc)

yep in the past they would close for 5 days and then the money would run out of the ATMs too......... they do refill them now even when they are on holiday.

Arafat day is on 15th November and Eid al-Adha is due about 16th November depending when 1st Eid is called.
