Re: Ramadan
Assume you mean 29 days ‘until’ Eid? Ramadan here in Oman tomorrow, too. Makes a change as we’re usually a day later than everyone else in GCC. It’s been crazy in the supermarkets the last week or so. Reminds me of the blind panic in the UK on Christmas Eve - people filling trolleys with so much food you’d think the shops were closed for a month and not just one day

Re: Ramadan
Got to work until 5 today. That’s an outrage and in clear breach of the labour laws. Hope I don’t get in trouble.

Nah, you'll be alright -- just mention your mate in Morocco who instead of the normal 7 - 6 now works a thoroughly-relaxing 6 - 5 during Ramadan.

New one for me...
Sitting outside at captains arms in Abu Dhabi at 4PM having a beer.... It is in an opaque plastic glass for some reason, but a beer during the day in Ramadan!!
Not seen this in my 7 years here...i know Dubai’s has relaxed, but AD was always a bit more cautious..

Re: Ramadan
Went to our new local (Al Hamra Golf Club) on Friday where they’d been serving booze all day, albeit inside as we weren’t allowed to sit outside til after sunset.
Strange thing was, the live band was there. They were indoors but, even though RAK is the most laid back emirate, I thought live music was a definite no.

Jesus that place is awful. We used to go a bit when it first opened but went a year or two ago and it's atrocious.
17dhs is probably too low for there. I reckon it's dark side.
