Quicksand...
Does it not exist at all in this country???
I've already been here since 2001 and I have never read or heard of news about someone getting into trouble...

there is a very large area of quicksands on the edge of the rub al khali called Umm as-Samīm (mother of poison) and sabkhas can become quicksand after the rains. There is also an area along from baracuda just behing the beach thats quicksand and i believe that there are large areas of quicksands between abu dhabi and the saudi border.
there are also areas in Liwa which whilst not techincally quicksand are sand which is so fine as to be chest deep if you step in it, its a bitch to get out of.
