Question Is Prophet Ascension day a dry holiday in Doha/Qatar?

Hey

2 questions in one morning! won't happen again!

I've got a mate who wants to visit from Oman this Thursday and he was asking if Prophets Ascension day is a dry here. There is a holiday and it's dry in Oman from Wednesday evening to Friday morning apparently!
Has anyone heard if this is the case here in Qatar/Doha?
No point in him coming if we cant get totally w@ankered!! lol

Cheers all in advance
Geordie

Qataris are Wahabis and do not celebrate this holiday, whcih they regard as "an innovation"

They did not celebrate the prophets birthday back in January, but they still shut the pubs that night. I only found out when I arrived and the doors were locked! Better check with the hotels
