B.
C, Rooney was petulant but no real danger so I think he got it right with the yellow. Seen em given either way, although Cardiff Boy was swinging arms also.
How about the guy slapping Fellaini late on? (Even though I would also like to slap Fellaini).

Rooney should have been off, so should have the Belgian from Everton for his tackle on Suarez, I would also have sent off Sturridge, just because he is a tw@.

red for Rooney in my book, yellow and pen for Sunlun (dangerous play - even though he flicked his foot away at the last minute) and play on for Brown,

the keeper one is by far the worst, if Fletcher had bottled / taken evasive action he could have been badly hurt - it was the only one not punished
I think the ref was right with Rooney too, petulance and didn't hurt him at all, but if it had been the other way around the Cardiff lad would have walked. The pundits all agreed it should have been red but would have accused the ref of not using common sense and spoiling the game if he had sent him off

Wes Brown's was big time BS.
Agree on the Rooney chat too. You see this and worse day in day out in the EPL between the lower table teams. If it hadn't have been Rooney you wouldn't have heard anything about it after 5 mins. It would have been a yellow and play on. It's the same for that prick Suarez. Because it's him we hear all about it for weeks on end. The commentators on AJ Sports last night kept it going the whole game just because it was Rooney. Same on MOTD and in the papers. Any lesser known player and it would have been card and more on.

'Keepers get far too much leeway. Not only should he have been off, but he should consider himself lucky not to be on an assault charge. Can you imagine the reaction if any player other than a 'keeper had made that challenge?

There seem to be a few people here who think a red should only be shown if the 'victim' is actually injured......... Sorry?? Why?? That has nothing to do with the intent of the offender - which is surely all that matters?

Re: Premier League Season 2013/14
The Wes Brown one was a good solid and forceful tackle with no intention to hurt anyone but just get the ball. Which is exactly what happened.
With Begovic, it was reckless and out of control and should have been a straight red regardless of the fact that no contact was made.
If the third one wasn't Rooney then not much would have been made from it in the media. I do think it should have been a red card though as it should not be seen in the game as it is just plain nasty.

What annoys me is when somebody goes for a horrible two footed tackle but the player jumps out the way and the player will get a booking at most. It is not about what damage is made but the intent and aggression behind a tackle.

Are we actually arguing with anyone anymore?
