Mostly it gets the backs up of people who weren't really on the receiving end.

The worst thing about the overly PC movement (and the anti-PC movement) is that the genuinely useful aspects of it get lumped in with the 'vertically challenged' aspects.

Yeah - I think you need to look back at what the UK was like from the 50's up to the early 90's to realise how necessary it was to make efforts to create a multi-cultural society. While there are still the odd flare-ups, the racial divide is nothing like what it used to be.

I think you just need to watch a couple of episods of ''Till Death Do Us Part'' and ''Love Thy Neighbour'' for that...

Yeah, but Alf Garnett was a total scream. I heard an interview with Warren Mitchell on R4 - he (I think rightly) claimed that the show was actually anti-racist because Alf is a laughable character. The audience don't empathise with him - he shows his own attitudes to be absurd.

PCness exists, but it's exaggerated and used to strike fear into the Daily Mail and Sun readership about how our beloved country is changing because of all the fuzzy-wuzzys coming in.

As for crocs, they look better than flip-flops on men, in my opinion. And they ARE comfy. Only shallow people put astheatics above comfort. Which is why they are all in Dubai.

i'd have to disagree there... crocs are fine on women and kids... but just look wrong on men... if you want comfort it has to be a pair of jingas

If they're green or yellow or something, then I agree. I've got a black pair. They look fine. But what looks fine is subjective, of course.
