Sure, only half the "Pakis" that got bashed at my school were actually Indians. Bangladeshis, Nepalis, Sri Lankans, Ugandan Asians, West Indian Asians etc.

still...it's not about the actual meaning but what it means to the people who use the term...
I used it once on this board, when I drove into a gentleman from Pakistan, and got told off...and I truly only thought up until then, that it was an abriviation, like you would say he's a Brit...(which, I have learned since, can also be a negative thing...)

A friend of mine is married to a Pakistani who hates "pakis". He uses it as a term to describe the lower class uneducated Pakistanis in England.
