Re: Owen off to City?
What's all this crap about Owen??
This season he's roughly kept up his career strike rate of 1 in 2 (8 goals from 17 games). Last season the "injury-prone Owen" only missed 9 games.
He has 40 from 89 for England (not quite the strike rate of a Lineker or a Greaves, but roughly equal to Bobby Charlton).
I cannot think of one period in his career when any intelligent fan has said "Oh my God, Owen's playing - we'd be better off without him!".
Career total = 201 from 401.
And he's still only 29.
In the current climate, with the sort of prices being asked for overrated mediocrity (Roque Santa Cruz), he's surely worth a lot more than 5m.
If Newcastle sell Owen, they will get relegated - how much will that cost them (reduced TV revenues etc)? A lot more than 5m.
Keep him, Newcastle - or it will mean a nice away trip to places like MK Dons next season..........

Mustn't grumble.
Still can't see him at Man City though............
By the way........... as I write, Man Utd are totally dismantling the Chelsea so-called defence...........

Re: Owen off to City?
It will be a lottery, and I also think reaching the usual 40 point wont be enough this season, not with the way any team can beat another on any given day
Must say if I had a preference, it would be Man City, Newcastle & Tottenham......for no other reasons other than it would be a laugh to see the AD lot to try & attract star players to the Championship, to see Dennis Wise given a good hiding outside St James' Park and to see good ole 'Arry's saggy twitching face on TV blaming their relegation on being down to the 'bare bones'....lol
