But would you want to hold on to him until the summer when you could get 5m for him now from City? Not sure if he would be sufficiently motivated if he stays until the end of the season. How about a loan swap involving Jo or Benjani or possibly Elano for Owen if City get a good midfielder in the January sales?

Newcastle have been a nice little cash cow for him though!

wouldnt worry mate, it seems as if Man City are intent on signing anyone approaching 30 years of age with an injury laden past (Owen, Bellamy, Parker), but presumably they are going for mature Premiership experience in their fight to avoid relegation this season

I'd swop him for elano in a second, apart from that his goals could save us from relegation this season.

Owen got permanent injuries nowadays, might still put in a performance now and then but basically he ought to retire..
That said he´ll probably come to City this summer on a free, we need depth in the squad and having him as an extra option would be nice.

Maybe I´ll ask the caretaker to drop a letter with some suggestions for transfers at Sheikh Mansours office..Hughes seems a bit out of his depth at times.
