Need some pointers for nice restaurants/nightlife in Dubai for this coming Thursday please. Nothing too hectic as going to golf and cricket! The following day. TIA

Wife was in Buddha Bar with friends last night and thought it was outstanding.
My current favourite is Nobu.

I like Loca at Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa, Jumeirah 1. Not too fancy, not too shite, nice music and atmosphere.

Stables is quite nice on a friday for some (cheap) drinks (ladies drink pink wine for free) and they serve food (untested). The band is ok.

Koreana is good if you want a foody start before moving onto the boozy part.

It's Thursday I'm looking for, read the reviews for Loca and sound really good, love Mexican food so might be a winner. I'm with the in laws so not too boozy needed as FIL falls asleep at the dinner table ha

There's a hotel at the Barnasti end of the marina (before you cross the bridge heading for Barnasti), which has an outdoor restaurant, with tables and alcoves covered by canopies. Can't remember the hotel name or the menu, except that I had excellent mezze there, and it was quiet, relaxing and authentic.

Scene at Pier 7 is good. Modern takes on British Dishes and a nice atmosphere

Al Hambra in Madinat Jumeirah is one of my favourite restaurants in Dubai. Tapas to die for..

The Meridien next to the Habtoor Grand has a really nice outdoor terrace bar / restaurant. Think it's Mexican and it's bloody lovely.
